Turkish School with Zero-Energy Building
The contributions of the SENTRUM project, which was carried out in Küçükköy, Ayvalık in collaboration with Enerjisa Enerji, UNDP Turkey and Sabancı University, in the region keeps expanding.
We met with the teachers, students and parents/guardians at Necmi Komili Primary and Secondary School to explain the works performed since the beginning of the project, which was carried out as part of the SENTRUM project, and to raise awareness on sustainable tourism practices and energy efficiency.
Thanks to the solar energy panels and energy efficiency practices -one of Energy of My Business practices- that we completed at Necmi Komili Primary and Secondary School as part of the SENTRUM project, the school has begun to consume the very same energy generated at the school. The school will also contribute to the circular economy by transmitting the surplus energy generated to the national energy grid.
Thanks to the environmentally-friendly practices, the school gets the 'Net Zero-Energy Building’ title and is one of the first applications in Turkey.
As part of the SENTRUM, we will continue our activities to make Küçükköy, Ayvalık an exemplary green destination in terms of sustainable tourism.
